Minerals are naturally occurring substances that play an important role in keeping the human body healthy and functioning properly. When minerals enter the human body through the food we eat that do not dissolve nor change form, hence they are known as inorganic substances.
Minerals help the body by regulating the amount of water, transporting oxygen, maintaining a certain thickness in your blood i.e. coagulation, ensuring the bones and teeth stay healthy and various other functions.
There are two types of minerals your body requires, these are major minerals and trace minerals. The difference between major and trace minerals is based on the amount we need. The body requires large amounts of major minerals and small amounts of trace minerals.
