This exercise is done using only your bodyweight.  It is safe, low impact and is a great exercise for toning the legs, improving your cardiovascular fitness and strengthening your joints.  This exercise was made famous by an Indian wrestler called The Great Gama  whom is reputed to have performed 4000 hindu squats a day.

Hindu Squats are used effectively by the military, combat sports athletes such as mixed martial artists, wrestlers, boxers, kickboxers in order to develop physical conditioning and a mentally tough never give up attitude that you can develop and use in your daily life.  We all know what great shape they are in and how fit they are.  If Hindu Squats work for them, then they will work for you.  This all depends on how hard you are willing to train.
