Steak Salad

Dish Description

This is a nutritious and tasty salad that combines protein with vegetables that will make you feel fuller for longer and help you keep the weight off.  SERVES 2

6 ounces or (180 grams) of sirloin steak

2 tablespoons of virgin olive oil

1 10 ounce or (300 gram) packet of baby spinach

3 ounces or (90 grams) of white mushrooms sliced

1/2 yellow coloured bell pepper (capsicum) sliced

1/2 red coloured bell pepper (capsicum) sliced

2 carrots sliced

Juice from one squeezed lemon



Preheat the grill to high heat.  Place an iron skillet with extra virgin olive oil on the grill.

Slice the steak into thin strips.  Place the strips of steak in the iron skillet and cook for three- four minutes.

Place the cooked steak in a bowl.

Slice the bell peppers (capsicums), mushrooms and carrots into thin slices.

Sprinkle the baby spinach in a large salad bowel followed by the bell peppers, mushrooms and carrots.

Cut a lemon open and squeeze the juice over the salad along with a sprinkling of virgin olive oil.

Then spread the strips of steak over the salad and serve.
